I have not had huevos rancheros in years. That is what I had for breakfast this morning at the Prairie Rose.. I had not even been there in several years and am glad that I decided to stop by this time. The food was wonderful, large portions and not so bad on the pocket book.. The service was extremely wonderful.. I never seen the bottom of my coffee cup! :) Now that is a plus since most of the service in Hobbs has gotten to where it is terrible.. I would much rather spend my money at a small locally own, mom and pop type restaurant, cafe, coffee shop than the large chain, fast food places where the food is half the time cold and the service even colder..
Prairie Rose, I give you 2 thumbs up!!

I have noticed that the fast food joints are getting pretty bad at not giving you what you order.. You better check your food before driving away from that drive through. And watch out as the workers at the windows will try their best to get you to pull on out before checking your food. You might find that double meat cheese burger that you ordered is a chicken or maybe even fish sandwich. Or if you are allergic to onions, and ask that they hold the them. Check it out, you will probably find that they added extra onions. Is this due to employees not able to read or just not caring any more!!!

Dine In, Drive Thru, And if you don't have time you can even call your order in and it will be ready when you get there for carry out or dine in.. They even do deliveries! What more could you ask for? Great Food, Great Service and Friendly People! Oh And I can NOT forget the BEST Ice Tea in town, Sweet or Unsweet! Now that's sweet!!!

Hobbs: El Palomar
This little Mexican Resturant has been around for awhile. Yet I had never even thought about trying it out. Sometime back in about July my husband and I decided to give them a try. And now it is our Monday lunch place.. Most of the time when I eat at a Mexican restaurant I only get the Beef Enchilada's. But this place has one damn good Chili Relleno. I have never found a Chili Relleno that I can say I even would eat again. I am just not that much into them. But they are very delicious at El Palomar. I feel up on two Chili Relleno's with Beans and Rice which is also very good especially topped with cheese. They also have a really good dessert selection, home made cakes, pies and I don't know what it is called but they have some sort of strawberry whipped cream dessert that I just can not stay away from. I am not exactly sure what they put in it as far as the cream. I don't think it is the normal store bought whipped cream though. That is what it looks like but does not at all taste like store bought whipped cream. And they just throw in some sliced strawberry's.. YUMMMMY You can grab a plate from their Buffet or order from the menu.. It is all good all the way down to the service!!!
